The DevOps paradigm is now a well understood and accepted concept. However, its practical implementation within certain scenarios still leads to the creation of anti-patterns that undermine the realisation of core DevOps benefits such as continuous delivery.
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) focuses on improving the customer and client experience. SRE can reduce or remove much of the natural friction between development teams who want to continually release new or updated products, and operations teams want to be absolutely sure there are no problems before release.
Elliott Berg, Lead Platform Engineer at The Home Office, will cover key challenges when implementing DevOps with a large delivery portfolio and how the adoption of SRE and the drive for product centric delivery teams has been used to improve flow, reduce toil and improve user experience.
Justification for attending this session:
By the end of this session you will have a deeper understanding of the challenges of adopting DevOps in large scale delivery portfolios and the impact and benefits of adopting SRE.
