What is special about the leadership of projects and why is it important?  These were the key questions that drove Sarah's research and having implications for the project community, delivery organisations and the process of delivering major and complex projects across industry, public services and government.  The research culminated in the APM Publishing report Project leadership: skills, behaviours, knowledge, and values helping to focus, develop and refine our understanding of project leadership to shape capability building for project professionals and their organisations.

Sarah Coleman

Summary

Sarah started her career in ICT and has over 30 years’ experience of commerce, projects, programmes, transformation and strategic initiatives at senior level with cross-sector multi-nationals and public services in the UK and internationally.  She specialises in helping organisations operationalise their strategy and policy.  A published author and researcher, Sarah has carried out research into project leadership competencies across private sector multi-nationals.  She is a Chartered Project Professional, Fellow and former Non-Executive Director of the APM, and a Visiting Fellow at Cranfield University.
