Case study: Agile Project of the Year

At the 2019 Real IT Awards, Travelport was the joint winner in the 'Agile Project of the Year' category. If you want to hear about what made this project such a success, book yourself onto this webinar now.

Commercial air travel is evolving with new distribution channels.  This is being driven by new technology and industry changes, propelled by ‘leading’ airlines in the traditional and low-cost carrier space. This evolution moving the traditional distribution of airline fares and products towards distribution of offers via airline APIs.
Travelport undertook an initiative to meet these changing airline customer needs called MultiSource Content (MSC), delivered as an Agile Release Train (ART). The objectives of the MSC project were to:
• Lead in the market as the first Global Distribution System (GDS) with a New Distribution Capability (NDC) product in Q2, 2018
• Deliver NDC improvements and iterate quickly against key customer requirements using the Scaled Agile framework.

The Multi-source content (MSC) project demonstrated Travelport’s ability to adopt new disruptive trends and develop travel technology products in an optimised way through scaled agile delivery. This project resulted in Travelport being first to market with an important new content distribution capability, ensuring Travelport leads in critical areas of the evolving travel technology market and adds significant value to its customers and partners.
